What is a Toggle?
Toggle is an element that gives you the power to control an item’s Advanced Options like positioning, Responsive, Animation & Delay. You can use the toggle to enable or disable these options, and you can also toggle if you want the item to display in fullscreen or not. Toggle is a great option for adding customization to an otherwise standard widget, and it’s very simple to implement.
The word toggle is also used to describe the act of switching between two functions, such as when someone uses a button on their laptop to toggle between two different screen views while video chatting with friends at the same time. Toggle is a useful tool for building responsive designs in web development, as it allows users to easily change the layout of the page based on their needs.
It’s important to note that when you use a toggle in production, it is a live decision for the user. As such, it is a best practice to test all the toggle configurations that are expected to go live, including any that you have flipped On. This will ensure that any existing or legacy behavior is still enabled, and new or future behavior isn’t accidentally disabled when a toggle gets flipped On. You may also want to consider testing a fallback toggle configuration with any toggles that you are planning to release flipped Off, so that any unexpected regressions are caught before they hit your user base.
